Sophie first met Father Josef in 1996 when her 24 month old daughter developed a severe case of asthma and he introduced them to the experienced hands of a foot reflexologist. Three months later, when her daughter was completely recovered, Sophie found herself with a radically new vision and set of values for life.

Sophie began working with Father Josef in 1999 and is the Secretary-General of The Fr. Josef Eugster H.D. Association. She has been involved in spiritual work with the church and social work with SE Asian and Mainland Chinese brides as well as aboriginal minority groups and youths. In recent years her focus has been on taking Father Josef's Foot Reflexology Method, which he developed over the past 40 years, and faithfully spreading it throughout the world. This includes establishing a training curriculum and certification system for their global team of reflexologists and continually updating the organisations' publications. The organisation has responded to calls from all over the world for their teaching and services and in recent years nearly half of Sophie's working hours have been spent overseas, including northern China (Hebei, Inner Mongolia) and the various outer islands of Taiwan.

In the last 30 years, Father Josef has looked forward to the day when a global team could faithfully practice his foot reflexology method, a method that is easily learned, precise and careful, and warmly embracing. When he was 74, this dream became a reality, and now this team is at work in every place on the globe, all using the same technique, the same caring spirit, and the same sensitivity. With Father Josef's undivided commitment to the happiness of others as the core value of this work, the team has gone through a long formative period and extensive research and development to establish today's tried-and-true method. In addition to establishing systems for training, certification, and continued testing, we have established safeguards for the integrity of the physical reflexology method as well as the quality of the treatment provided.
